Love your own misery.

If your nature is the subject of struggle, a battlefield, oh, do not lose courage, do not be sad. I would even say: love your wretchedness, for it is precisely in it that God exercises His mercy, and if His gaze brings you sadness that closes you in on yourself, it is from self-love! In times of weakness, turn to the prayer of your Master. Yes, little sister, He saw you on your cross, prayed for you, and this prayer is eternally alive and present before His Father; it will save you from your wretchedness. The more you feel your weakness, the more your trust should grow, for you rely only on Him.
