You are a sweet flame.

Leaning on You and through the grace of beauty
of your light, just like a cloud, a branch, a blade,
You are a sweet flame and I a burning spring,
You are the flame that will scorch me, kill me, and save me.

In a surge of desire, it seems to me that I hear
an excited voice that thunderously calls and challenges,
as I walk through the parched desert, weary,
it safely leads me through the dried riverbed.

You ignite the dawn with the morning star, in it
You awaken the air to joy, lightning and dust of the earth
are your gifts, also the powers of dark primality

of this downpour in a deafening, crushing flood.
I am with You, God, fearsome and infinite,
my God, hidden, sweet, who shrouds Himself in mystery.
