In return for the human heart, God gives His heart; for the whole human heart, He gives His whole heart, undivided and united, not limited like a man by space, number, and time. He is our heavenly Father, and thus His paternal love infinitely surpasses every earthly paternal love. Therefore, He does not look upon a man who hears His voice only at the last hour as a careless creature and as a wretched latecomer, but as the child who has been acquired the latest, the one who has been renewed in grace the latest, thus as the youngest and smallest child.
