O, God of my soul, how we are always in a hurry to offend You, and how You are in a hurry to forgive us!
O, true Friend, how poorly You are repaid by the one who is Your traitor! O, true Christians, help to weep for your God, not only for Lazarus with such compassionate tears, but for those who may not even want to be resurrected, even if His Majesty calls them.
O, my Goodness, how well You are aware of the sins I have committed against You! May they end, my Lord, may they end, as well as the sins of all others. Awaken these dead to life! May Your call be so powerful that even if they do not ask You for life, You still give it to them.
Even Lazarus did not ask You to resurrect him. You did it for one sinner. Behold, here is another, my God, a much greater sinner. May Your mercy shine: despite my wretchedness, I ask You for those who do not want to ask You for it…
