There are more and more sick and needy people who surround my door. It costs something – and this is good; the heart rejoices from it. After all, every sick person, every unhappy soul that knocks at my door, is Christ calling me – and therefore I do not feel the knocking as an interruption. We cannot say of Christ that he bothers us. Thus, we find Christ when we seemingly leave him. We leave it to Christ how he wants to come to us, and we will not dictate the way we would like to obtain him. This is beneficial and a thousand times better.
