I like this idea that the life of a priest and a Carmelite is an Advent that prepares for the Incarnation in souls. David sings in one of the psalms, "for fire goes before the Lord." Isn’t this fire love? And isn’t our mission also to prepare the way for the Lord through our union with Him, whom the apostle calls "a consuming fire"? (…) Help me, I really need it! The more light comes, the more I feel my helplessness. Could you, on December 8th – since you are a high priest – dedicate me to the power of His love, so that I may truly be "the Praise of His Glory"?
