Mary's Magnificat is carried throughout by great humility, which is reflected in every word: “He has looked with favor on the lowliness of his servant.”
The depth of our relationship with God is measured precisely by humility. God, like an eagle, swoops down on everything that is small, needy, and humble. Only human pride, arrogance, and conceit can hold Him back.
