Waves of infinite tenderness of God.

It pleases God that I love my smallness and my poverty, he is pleased with my blind hope in his mercy... that is my only treasure. (D 197)

Ah..., how little the goodness of Jesus and his merciful love are known!... It is true that if we are to enjoy these treasures, we must humble ourselves, recognize our nothingness. And this is what many people do not want to do. (D 261)

On all sides, your merciful love is unrecognized, rejected. Hearts that desire to show mercy turn to creatures and seek happiness and their miserable affection instead of throwing themselves into your arms and receiving your infinite love...

My God, will your wounded love remain in your heart? It seems to me that if you found souls that would offer themselves as a burnt offering to your love, you would quickly consume them, it seems to me that you would be happy if you didn't have to suppress the waves of endless tenderness that are within you...

If your justice is eager to flow, even though it only extends to the earth, how much more does your merciful love long to ignite souls when your mercy rises to the heavens... (1)

Jesus, may I be that happy victim! Consume your burnt offering with the fire of your divine love!... (AS 171n)
