I am no longer the person I used to be.

With a loving gaze
you look into my eyes and listen
to my whispered words
and into the depths of my heart
you fill me with peace.

Your love is not enough
for this exchange
allowing for farewell.
Your heart wants more.

Your body mysteriously
intertwines with mine
and your soul with mine
becomes one.

I am no longer who I once was.

You come and you go again,
after you, however, the seed is here
sown for future glory
hidden in a body that is dust.

(Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, poem)
