You are a thousand times kinder than he is!

How good is the father of the prodigal son! But You are a thousand times more gracious than he! (…) Not only did You receive the prodigal son with such unspeakable kindness, without punishment, without reproach, without reminding him of the past, but You welcomed him with kisses, with a beautiful tunic, and a ring of sonship. And not only did You receive him in this way, but You Yourself, as a good Father, sought him and brought him back from distant lands! And to what divine feast, much better than the one the father of the prodigal son prepared, You immediately invited me!
