Shouldn't someone defend this loving Lamb?

When good Jesus saw how much we needed his help, he showed us his love by finding an admirable means; he said in his name and in the name of his brothers: Give us this day our daily bread, Lord.
Oh, eternal Lord, how could you accept such a request? Why did you hear it? Do not let yourself be blinded by the love your Son has for us, for He would let himself be torn to pieces every day just to fully fulfill your will and work for our salvation. You must think of this, my Lord, for your Son would not even consider it. Is it possible that for every good we do, He must pay the price? Is it perhaps because He silently bears everything, that He never speaks of Himself and only intercedes for us? Shouldn't someone defend this most loving Lamb for that reason?
