Religious Prayer

to the Most Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel

Hail Mary, Jewel of Mount Carmel,
I beseech you after God,
do not disdain me
and do not drive me away from your most holy Face,
do not look upon my sins,
but remember
that I count myself among the number of your Brothers and Sisters,
although I unworthily wear your holy Scapular,
which you yourself named
The Sign of your Brotherhood,
The Sign of Salvation,
in the dangers of the bond of Protection and
the promise of eternal life,
nevertheless, graciously grant
that for me
this holy Scapular may be a sign of eternal salvation,
The Bond of Protection
between your most beloved Son
and my sinful soul,
and that I may always be freed from all evil
in life, as well as at Death,
Amen.

by the Carmelite P. Tiburtius and S. Thaddaeus in the year 1771 in Prague.)
