Deliver us!

We entrust to you, Mother, the world, all people and all nations; we also entrust to you this consecration for the world and we offer it to your motherly heart. Immaculate Heart of Mary, help us overcome the dangers of evil that so easily settles in the hearts of today's people – evil that burdens our present with its unpredictable consequences and seems to close the paths to the future.

From hunger and war, free us!
From nuclear war, from unpredictable self-destruction and from all wars, free us!
From sins against human life from its beginning, free us!
From hatred and the trampling of the dignity of God's child, free us!
From all kinds of injustice in the life of society, states, and among nations, free us!
From contempt for God's commandments, free us!
From efforts to suppress the truth about God in human hearts, free us!
From sins against the Holy Spirit, free us!
Free us!

Mother of Jesus, accept this call weighed down by the suffering of all people and entire societies. May the infinite power of merciful Love reveal itself once again in the history of the world! May it restrain evil. May the light of hope shine for all in the Immaculate Heart.

(John Paul II, excerpt from the Consecration to Our Lady of Fatima,
during a visit to thank for the gift of life, May 13, 1982)
