We must remain calm while knowing that we are more miserable than anyone here on earth can imagine, but that Jesus loves us more than anyone can comprehend. I do not blame you for the inconsistency of your impressions; such is the fate of nearly all people. However, I criticize you for wanting to determine your diagnosis in this regard by yourself, while your diagnosis should be based on two facts:
1. you are more miserable than you can realize,
2. more loved than you can realize.
If everything is based on this foundation, constancy will host itself in the very depths of your being; suffering will not be eliminated, but it will be mysteriously enlightened from now on.
