The Act of Love of Saint John Vianney

I love you, God, my only desire is to love you until the last breath of my life.

I love you, God worthy of infinite love, I would rather die loving you than live a single moment without loving you.

I love you, God, I long for heaven just for the joy of being able to love you perfectly.

I love you, God, I fear hell only because there I will never have the sweet comfort of loving you.

God, when my tongue cannot tell you every moment that I love you, I would like at least for my heart to repeat it to you with every breath. Grant me the grace to suffer out of love for you, to love you in suffering, and to one day exhale for the last time with love for you and with the feeling that I love you. And the closer my end is, the more fervently I ask you, increase my love and perfect it.

Amen.

On the "Monument of Meeting" in Ars, there is an inscription on the pedestal:

You showed me
the way to Ars
I will show you
the way to heaven
