A great and admirable remedy against bodily pains and mental sadness is the reading of the Holy Scripture. I believe that no words, however carefully chosen, can comfort a sick mind and dispel worries like the Scripture itself. I have experienced this very often. When I was sometimes overwhelmed by a multitude of anxieties that so wildly flood the restless life of mortals, I would always resort to the books of Scripture. And I found the relief I sought, and in my hope and desire, I was not disappointed.
