Prepare with us, the family of Carmel, for the celebration of the Resurrection!
This year, French Carmelites have prepared exercises for the weekdays, this time with Brother Laurence of the Resurrection. This year, several other countries joined them – including the Czech Republic – under the care of Blanka Cvrková, formerly Sister Zdislava, OCD. And so today we already have our own page where you can register and then receive all weekly impulses, an introduction on Ash Wednesday, and then every Friday via email.
You can register for free at: www.exercicie-online.karmel.at
This time we will be accompanied by Brother Laurence of the Resurrection (1614–1691, “Brother Lawrence” – strangely, he is much better known in the English-speaking world than in his homeland, France. Yet Brother Laurence of the Resurrection spent the most important part of his life in the monastery of barefoot Carmelites in Paris. There he discovered and later taught what he himself calls “the practice of the presence of God.”
This humble brother, first a cook and later a cobbler, profoundly influenced others during his lifetime, and his message speaks to us even today.
He helps us to live our everyday lives in the sight of God. Prayer is not limited to a specially reserved time. Our whole life becomes a living relationship with God. During this Lenten season, we allow ourselves to be shaped by this mystery.
Course of the spiritual exercises
If you sign up on this page, you will receive an impulse for the following week during the Lenten season at your email address, starting with Ash Wednesday on February 14th and then every Friday.
Invite your friends and acquaintances to pray as well! You can recommend this page or share the link exercicie-online.karmel.at. Participation in these spiritual exercises is free.
You can also download the poster or flyer, print it out, and possibly distribute it.
