Not a large number of words, but just a few, concise and clear.

When I was a young man gradually recovering from tuberculosis, I took long walks. At that time, I understood that if I am to progress in trust, it is essential for me to hold on to a few truths of the gospel that are very simple and to keep returning to them. Today, just as back then, I would say: Whoever wants to surrender to the Holy Spirit, let them allow a few truths of the gospel to act within them – sometimes one recognizes them early in life, and they can become like a rock on which one can lean. Let them allow not a large number of words to influence them, but just a few, concise and transparent. And if we have momentarily forgotten them? In the moment they reappear, we will suddenly remember them.
