My dear little sister Rose,
I am glad that you are doing better. Do not overexert yourself. We think that God is dependent on our performance, otherwise He cannot love us. And He wants us to stand before Him with empty hands so that He can bless us. When we are full of our own achievements, we think it is our merit. But then God cannot bless us because there is no free space in us for His gifts. This is, I think, the meaning of the sentence in your Constitutions – to be free for God. Our ego is the greatest obstacle to God's action in us. To not revolve around this ego, but to come out of ourselves, to be "empty" for God and His action in us.
