The simple soul who every morning offers "all his prayers, work, joy, and suffering" of the coming day and then accepts without complaint and responds with love to all situations of that day as sent by God, penetrates almost with child-like faith into the depth of the truth about God's will. To predict what God's will will be, to reason about what it certainly must be, is human folly and at the same time the most cunning temptation. The bare, simple truth is that his will is what he sends us every day, whether it is circumstances, places, people, or problems. It is about learning to understand it, and not just theoretically or in rare moments of enlightenment through God's grace, but day by day.
