Miriam - The Little Arab Girl
28. A Song of Love. Venite adoremus... (Come, let us adore ...)
To Love, to my Love!
Come, kings of the earth,
come, let us adore Him.1I sing of the greatness,
of the power of our Creator:
come, let us adore Him.For we are the work of His hands,
the price of His blood:
come, let us adore Him.There is no god like Him:
come, let us adore Him.Do not stop at what belongs to the earth,
for all of that is nothing:
come, let us adore Him.Come all of you who are on earth:
do not stop at what belongs to the earth,
for everything is vanity
and will end in a moment:
come, let us adore Him.We are just pilgrims
and exiles on this earth:
come, let us adore Him.He is our King, He is our Father:
come, let us adore Him.He created everything on earth:
come, let us adore Him.Let us fall at His feet,
let us give Him our hearts:
come, let us adore Him.Come, praise and exalt Him;
let us say with heart and mouth:
There is no god like You.
Come, let us adore Him.Let us adore the Trinity, the one God,
oh, incomprehensible mystery!
Come, let us adore Him.Oh! Three Unfathomable Ones who create the One!
Oh, the power!
Come, let us adore Him.For Your wrath is terrible:
come, let us adore Him.
Wild animals and beasts tremble before Him;
His anger shakes the earth.
Evil ones, come, let us adore Him.His goodness is fatherly
to those who seek Him:
come, let us adore Him.His goodness, His mercy
belongs to the righteous:
come, let us adore Him.The whole earth, the animals2
in deep reverence rejoice:
come, let us adore Him.
29. To Die Means to Rejoice Greatly. - I would not want to die, my God! To die means to rejoice greatly ...
30. Fish Out of Water. - I am like a little fish out of water, opening and closing my mouth, having no other relief. I am also like that; I have no relief on earth other than to long and sigh for my homeland. Oh woe, when will that day come? Why does everything in this world pass like lightning, like field flowers? Everything is bitter, everything on this earth is like poison to my soul. The earth darkens so much in my eyes! When will we see Him endlessly?
31. To Contemplate You, God of Light. -
When I gaze upon You, God of Light,
it will be forever, so that it never ends!Oh! When my soul receives its food,
my joy, my happiness is fulfilled. When I see You, it will be forever,
it will be forever, so that it never ends! When I leave this harsh land,
my chains will fall forever:
I will see God!And when I learn,
that my chains are broken,
I will fly, I will run to the Beloved:
oh darkness, do not deceive me!I see Him, the Beloved:
do not hinder me from flying. The bread that I consume, the spring from which I drink,
is forever, to infinity!
32. Preparing Paradise for One's Own Brother. - Tomorrow, I will rejoice. In anticipation of this tomorrow, when I will be with You, my God, I will remain in love with my brother, as if nothing else in the world mattered but today to be with him. I want to seize the opportunity to practice virtues ... Where there is love, there truly is God. When you think about how to do good for your brother, God will think of you. If you dig a pit for your brother, you will fall into it yourself, it will be for you. But when you prepare Paradise for your brother, it will be for you. Remember this well ...
33. Forgiving the Sins of Others. - Little lambs, Mother Teresa urges you to continually practice love. This virtue is so beautiful, so sweet! Never look at either the faults or shortcomings of your sisters. Take upon yourself that which is the most difficult and laborious, so that you can ease their burdens. Always think well of others; excuse them. When you see that a sister spilled oil, think that she has immersed herself in God, and then take a rag to wipe the stain...
34. Healing the Wounds of a Neighbor. - Instead of trying to reopen the wound by pouring vinegar, one should rather strive to heal it, to bind it with the oil of love and to amend one's faults with greater love and faithfulness to the Lord.
35. Bile for Oneself, Honey for Others. - Make, Lord, that the hearts of all my sisters and my brothers be Yours. Accept them all and guard them, and let there be no malice among them. May each one save bile for themselves and give honey to others. So much I plead with You, Lord, for them!
