All the dead live on.

Jacques Maritain likes to say, “There is death, but there are no dead, all the dead live.” They are very close to us. The main idea of Maritain’s last book is that the church, our church, which we love, is more in the heavenly homeland, where it awaits us, than here on earth, where it comes to visit us.
