Bring all the world's tragedy to Jesus' manger.

God always places us at the center of the drama of the world, and I believe this is a grace from Him. If we view the problem of evil with the eyes of faith in this way, then our faith can only grow: the view of human evil either hardens and numbs us, or it compels us to call out loudly to heaven. Bring all the tragedy of the world to Jesus' manger, where both tenderness and pain are most fully revealed.

(Cardinal Charles Journet /1891–1975/, correspondence)
