On the 12th and 13th of September, during the ongoing General Chapter of the Order of the Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, a election of a new General Superior and his council will take place. We thank everyone who prays with us for the guidance of the Holy Spirit for the chapter fathers and for an open heart and anointing of the Holy Spirit for those who will be elected to these services.
Holy Spirit, descend upon us,
give your light to the darkness,
let us live in the brightness of love.
Come with your gifts again,
Father of the poor, among us,
come to comfort our hearts.
Comforter, be our guest,
live in our hearts for joy,
for the peace that you abound.
After work, let us rest,
refresh our parched journey,
wipe away the tears from our lashes.
Grant your happy flame
to faithful hearts, remember
us, to whom you have inclined.
Without you we are poor
and lost on earth,
prey for darkness, for error.
Wash away our sins, the traces of guilt,
give your freshness to the thirsty,
heal from pain and wounds.
Give fire to cold hearts,
help from indifference,
lead away from the wrong path and protect.
Lead us to virtues, teach us
to fill time with goodness,
help everyone with your gifts.
Teach us how to deserve
a happy death. And let us live
in eternal joy before God.
Amen.
