"Peter, do you love me?" When Jesus asks Peter, he is asking me. And the subject is love. … Jesus' humanity is touching: even as the resurrected one, he earnestly asks for love, for human love. He does not ask: Simon, son of John, have you understood my message, have you understood what I lived? But instead, it is as if he is saying: I leave everything to love and not to any kind of projects. I must go, but I leave you with one question: have I awakened love in you? And to you, who like Peter, due to many betrayals, are unsure of yourselves, but still love me, I entrust my message.
