These three conditions for obtaining a plenary indulgence can be performed several days before or after the prescribed act for obtaining the indulgence; however, it is advisable that holy communion and prayer for the Pope's intention be done on the same day;

Indulgence is forgiveness of temporal punishment before God for sins that have already been forgiven in terms of guilt.

An indulgence can be obtained by one who has been baptized and is in a state of grace at least at the end of the prescribed acts.

Every believer can obtain indulgences for themselves or for the deceased.

Plenary indulgences can also be obtained at any time (even outside the Jubilee Year) in other ways.

It is always necessary to fulfill three usual conditions (Holy Communion, Holy Confession, and prayer for the intention of the Pope).

Additionally, it is required to perform the prescribed act, which may be, for example, praying the rosary in a church or chapel, communal praying of the rosary (anywhere), half an hour of reading the Word of God or meditating on it, or half an hour of adoration of the Most Holy Sacrament.
