We must not give the Lord any ultimatums.

God guides each person along their own paths. Some reach the goal more easily and quickly than others. What we can do is, in relation to what God does with us, truly very little. But at least we must do that little. This means, above all: to persistently pray that we may find the right path, and to go without resistance wherever grace pulls us, whenever we feel it. Whoever acts in this way and perseveres patiently will not be able to say that their efforts are in vain. We just must not give the Lord any ultimatums.
