The more imperfect we are, the greater the possibilities of God's mercy. We have no thermometer to measure our perfection. This is good. It is a mystery. One must be very poor (our shortcomings belong to our poverty) for God to be able to work within us. It is grace to see our shortcomings, not to let them depress us, but to completely surrender ourselves to God with them.
