Our weakness attracts God.

It is trust and certainty that cause what seemed so distant to suddenly be within reach. It is trust and certainty that loosen God's mercy, while a lack of faith restricts it. Our weakness attracts God, because it offers Him the emptiness that He can fill. One could say that weakness presented to God with trust becomes a promise of God's intervention. We must trust God not in spite of our weakness, but precisely because of it – after all, our poverty attracts His mercy. No matter how deep the abyss of our misery, it is never an obstacle to God's action.
