Every minute could be the last – a letter from Ukraine.

Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. (Mt 7:7)

I am Anastasia, J-L 35 (i.e. a graduate of the Jeunesse-Lumiere evangelization school, class 35), a Ukrainian, and I am in Kyiv, at this time in the center of the Russian military attack. I realize that every minute could be the last minute of my earthly life, so I knock on the doors of your hearts, dear J-L family. The inhumanity is terrifying: the Russian army bombed an orphanage in the city of Vorzel, a kindergarten in the city of Okhtyrka. Many civilian houses, for example, one standing next to a nursery in Kyiv. We hardly sleep, and if we manage to fall asleep, we wake up to the sound of bombs and sirens, and our first concern is to find out whether our loved ones in other cities are still alive at that moment.

It can be stopped, for with God nothing is impossible. As the J-L school taught us – God acts through our hands. In J-L we were representatives from 56 countries. And so I ask you, let us raise our voices – from 56 countries. Each of your voices can help stop Russian aggression, so that it does not happen that the Russians use chemical or nuclear weapons. (The Russian army occupied Chernobyl, after which a level of gamma radiation was recorded above the control level).

How can you help?
1. Through continuous prayer in your communities.
2. Translate this message into your language and spread it in your surroundings.
3. On your knees I ask you, go out into the streets and organize demonstrations in support of Ukraine. Sacrifice a few minutes of your life to save the lives of Ukrainians, especially children. Millions of people around the world are already demonstrating, which is causing their governments to respond more quickly. Every minute saves lives.

Jesus spoke to them again, saying: I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. (Jn 8:12)

Jesus, may my hands be your hands, may my voice be your voice. Dear J-L, ignite the candles of your voices so that the war may end today.

May God bless you!

Anastasia from Ukraine (J-L 35)
