How amazing is Jesus! My God, I bow to you! You alone are great, I bow to your greatness, your power! You alone are worthy of worship… Who is like you? There is no other god like you on earth! How happy I am that my God created me so I can call him my God! If you had created me as a small animal, I couldn't say: my God! I thank you for giving me reason; I give it to you. How happy I am to have a God who fills heaven and earth! May everything resound with praises to our God! May the hills jump with joy! May the earth tremble!
(St. Mary of the Crucified, sayings from ecstasy, 1873)
